Favorite baby carriers

I've tried almost every kind of baby carrier there is (except some of the more expensive soft-structred Ergo types), and I will tell you my favorites.

The kanga is my favorite for around the house: cooking, cleaning, washing dishes, etc.  I believe I got mine from kangausa.com.  It's my favorite because it's so simple, it's just a lightweight piece of fabric.  And it can be worn as a scarf or a skirt or used as a picnic blanket, it's versatile.

(Not me, stole this picture from here, this is the wrap I have though).

For long walks I like a wrap.  It's an insanely long piece of fabric that you wrap around yourself like 5 times, but it's pretty secure and comfortable once the baby's in there.  I don't like to use this if I'm going to be taking the baby in and out of the carrier a lot.

This one is a Hotsling, best for younger babies.  It starts to kill your shoulder/back when they get older and heavier.  As you can see in the picture I'm trying to distribute the weight out on my shoulder, I'm pretty sure this was the last time I used it.  Awesome for little babies who can't hold their heads up though (you'd put them into more of a cradle position, obviously not the seated position you see here).  And good for running errands, it's very easy to take on and off.

Ones I've tried that I didn't really like: the ring sling was too complicated and the mei-tai, Asian style carrier I have is really uncomfortable.
